30 July 2008 Board of Regents Meeting

The Board of Regents will be meeting Thursday 31 July 2008. There will be no committee meetings for this Board meeting. The Board will meet at 10:15am in 201 Welch Hall. Items on the agenda for the Board include room and board rates, the university budgets, and tuition rates. All are welcome to attend the meeting. YPSILANTI- Interim Director of Political Action and former Student Senator Dusten Retcher, a sophomore from Ohio, has resigned his position and has left the University to serve in our nation’s armed forces. Eastern Michigan University Student Government would like to thank Mr. Retcher for the excellent service to the Student Body. Student Government would also like wish Mr. Retcher good luck in his future endeavors.

Due to this resignation, Student Body President Adam Slingwein has reopened the application process for the position of Student Government Political Action Director. Applications can be picked up at the Student Government Office, Student Center Room 342. Completed applications must be returned to the Student Government Office. Student Government will be accepted applications as early as July 8, 2008. No applications will be accepted later than July 22, 2008. Interviews for the position will take place after July 22, 2008.

In order to qualify, the applicant must be a student at Eastern Michigan University in good academic and judicial standing. The position entails running committee meetings, reporting to the Student Senate and the Student Body President, and working with local, state, and national politicians in order to educate them on the needs of Eastern Michigan University.
